Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control

More actions

To protect employees who may reasonably anticipate occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, the Company maintains a bloodborne pathogens exposure control program consistent with the federal OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030.

In summary, the program includes an exposure determination for each affected position, information and training on bloodborne pathogens, the availability of hepatitis B vaccinations, the use of Universal Precautions, engineering and work practice controls, personal protective equipment, and housekeeping measures designed to reduce the risk of occupational exposure. Procedures for responding to exposure incidents and the related recordkeeping requirements are also part of the program.

These procedures are described in greater detail in the Company's written Infection Control Plan, which is available to you in accordance with the plan. Additional information about the bloodborne pathogens program is provided to affected employees and may be obtained from Human Resources.
