Acknowledgment of Meal and Rest Break Policy
Florida law and the federal Fair Labor Standards Act do not require private employers to provide meal periods or rest breaks. Any meal period or rest break offered by the Company is therefore a Company policy benefit. The Meal Period and Breaks topics in Section 4 of this Handbook describe the Company's current practices, including any waivers, on duty meal periods, and lactation breaks under the federal PUMP Act.
Each employee is responsible for taking the meal periods and breaks the Company provides in accordance with that policy, and for accurately recording any work performed during a meal period when one would otherwise apply.
