Responsibilities:

Clinical Documentation Submission:

Proactive Reviews:

  • Conduct proactive reviews of clinical documentation to verify compliance with payers' requirements.
  • Identify discrepancies or issues in documentation and work with analysts to address and resolve them.

Compliance with Payers' Requirements:

  • Review clinical documentation to ensure it complies with specific payer guidelines and criteria.
  • Stay updated on changes in payer requirements and communicate any updates to the team.

CPT Code Compliance:

  • Verify that clinical documentation aligns with relevant CPT codes and billing guidelines.
  • Collaborate with analysts to rectify any discrepancies in CPT code utilization.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain high standards of documentation quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Implement quality control measures to prevent documentation errors and inaccuracies.

Documentation Audits:

  • Perform routine and random audits of clinical documentation to assess and enhance overall quality.
  • Document audit findings and provide feedback to analysts for continuous improvement.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the billing team, analysts, and other stakeholders to resolve documentation-related issues.
  • Serve as a point of contact for documentation inquiries and discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in healthcare documentation quality assurance or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of payer requirements and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with CPT codes and their proper application in clinical documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation software is a plus.
