Paid Parental Leave

More actions

Florida does not administer a state paid family leave program. The Company recognizes that welcoming a new child or caring for a family member with a serious health condition is a significant event, and offers the following protections and, where applicable, benefits.

Voluntary Company Paid Parental Leave

The Company may offer paid parental leave as a voluntary benefit for the birth of a child, the placement of a child for adoption, or the placement of a child in foster care. Where offered, the benefit's eligibility, duration, pay percentage, and any waiting period are set in a separate paid parental leave policy or plan document. Contact Human Resources for the current details.

Job Protected Unpaid Leave

Eligible employees are entitled to up to 12 workweeks of unpaid, job protected leave under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act for the birth or placement of a child and for bonding with the new child, and for the care of a spouse, child, or parent with a serious health condition. See the Family and Medical Leave topic for eligibility requirements and procedures.

Employees affected by pregnancy, childbirth, lactation, or related medical conditions are entitled to reasonable accommodations under the federal Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and the Florida Civil Rights Act, as described in the Reasonable Accommodation and Pregnancy Related Accommodation topics.

Use of Paid Time Off

Employees may, and in some cases must, use accrued paid time off and sick leave concurrently with FMLA leave or any Company paid parental leave, consistent with the applicable policy. Contact Human Resources to coordinate paid and unpaid leave for your specific situation.
