Reemployment Assistance (Unemployment)

Upon separation from employment, the employee may be entitled to state and federal reemployment assistance benefits (formerly known as unemployment insurance). In Florida, this program is administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity through its Reemployment Assistance program. Information about Reemployment Assistance can be obtained from the Department by telephone, in writing, online, or in person.

Employees are responsible for filing their own Reemployment Assistance claims with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, or with the equivalent agency in the state where they reside.
