Mileage and Driving Requirements

More actions

Employees whose duties require operation of a Company vehicle or a personal vehicle for Company business must provide proof of a current valid Florida driver license and proof of insurability under the Company's policy or evidence of effective personal automobile insurance coverage before the first day of employment.

The Company participates in a system that periodically reviews Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles records for all employees who drive as part of their job.

For employees who are required to drive, the Company reserves the right to transfer the employee to an alternative position, suspend, or terminate employment if the employee's license is suspended or revoked, if the employee fails to maintain personal automobile insurance, or if the employee becomes uninsurable under the Company's policy.

Employees who drive on Company business must comply with all Florida traffic laws, including the Florida Ban on Texting While Driving Law (Florida Statutes Section 316.305) and the prohibition on using a handheld wireless communications device in designated school crossings, school zones, and active work zones (Florida Statutes Section 316.306).

Mileage reimbursement is calculated at the current IRS standard mileage rate and is based on the miles driven between assigned shifts. Reimbursement may be issued as a separate payment on dates established by the Company.
