Shift Cancellation: Patient No Show or Parent/Guardian Absence

More actions

If the patient is not present at the home, school, or other worksite when scheduled program hours begin, the Company employee on site must contact the cancellation department immediately to receive instructions on what to do next.

When a patient cancels, employees will be paid for a portion of the scheduled shift in accordance with the Company's reporting time pay practices.

Company employees may never be alone in the home with a patient. A parent, legal guardian, or caregiver who has signed the required medical release on file with the Company must remain in the home throughout scheduled program hours. If that adult leaves the premises during program hours, the remainder of the shift must be canceled.

If the parent, guardian, or caregiver leaves the premises without notice and the employee discovers that they are alone in the home with the patient, the employee must contact the headquarters office immediately. If the responsible adult does not return within five minutes of that discovery, the headquarters office will contact the local police or sheriff.
