Shift Scheduling for Part-Time Hourly Employees

Basic Scheduling
Most work performed by part-time hourly employees takes place at Company clinics and at the homes and schools of patients. That work is almost always scheduled for a defined block of time at a specific location (for example, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). The Company refers to each such block at a single site as a "shift." A shift may be any length the Company designates. Employees are considered to be working during the scheduled work time.
With many employees and patients to coordinate, effective scheduling is essential to the Company's mission. Because the Company aims to serve as many patients as possible, employees are required to give at least two weeks' advance notice of any change in their availability.
