Shift Cancellation: Employee Illness
Any employee who needs to cancel a patient shift because of illness must contact the cancellation department at least 24 hours before the scheduled shift, when possible. Cancellations will then notify the Behavior Specialist on the case and the patient's family.
The Company will try to arrange alternative coverage for the shift. If a substitute is found, the family will be informed.
Where coverage is not available, the Company will attempt to reschedule any shifts canceled by Company personnel as makeup sessions, and the cancellation department will keep all parties informed when a makeup is being arranged.
Note: if you cannot reach the headquarters office, you may contact the Behavior Specialist assigned to the case. In that situation, the Behavior Specialist is responsible for relaying the cancellation to the headquarters office.
